Day 2 Begins With Rain

Not a lot of rain, necessarily. Not a driving rain to be sure. Just a little rain. But the sun is out now. That can only mean one thing: gas prices are going up. No wait, that’s not what that means. Sun out in South South (yeah, double South) Florida following rain means muggy, huggy, heavy humidity (rhyme and alliteration brought to you by a Bachelor’s Degree).

Last night ended with Coke floats – Fritz was our Coke Float Master Artist. Then sleep. One blogger’s air mattress had a slow leak, so he was on the floor by morning. A slow leak in an air mattress is, I believe, the equivalent of a crack in your cryogenic freeze chamber during intergalactic space travel (think original Planet of the Apes for reference, or if you are like Melissa and haven’t ever seen the original Planet of the Apes, just imagine it being a bad thing).

Bagels and cereal for breakfast, with a side of high-octane coffee that, I am pretty sure, is illegal in several states and Puerto Rico.

Cody is today’s boss. (I failed to mention our boss yesterday, though if you watched the videos you know he it was. Nick, an alumni since 2013 and three-time PAYH bike ride participant – this year is his first year on road crew instead of a bike, was boss yesterday. He and his dad, Daniel, drove down from Indiana to join us again this year.)

We are on our way. Soon we will leave the Keys behind us. Miami, here we come. Stay tuned! Tell your friends!
